Privacy policy
Effective 28 June 2026
This policy explains what personal information LetsRacket collects, how we use it, who can see it, and the choices you have. LetsRacket helps you find a local hitting partner and record your matches, so by design some of your profile is visible to other players. We collect only what the service needs and never sell your personal information.
Information we collect
We collect the following, most of it provided by you when you create an account and build your profile:
- Account details — your email address and password, or a Google sign-in. Used to create and secure your account; sign-in is handled by our authentication provider.
- Profile details — your display name, username, bio, profile photo, nationality, the country you compete in, your rough region, your year of birth (we store this to show your age, never the exact date), and any social links you choose to add.
- Home area — if you opt in to nearby-player discovery, an approximate home area rounded to about a 1 km grid. We never store or share your precise location. See “Location” below.
- Match and rating activity — the matches you record, their scores, and the ratings and rankings calculated from them.
- Connections — the connection requests you send or receive, the players you block, and the off-platform contact channel (a KakaoTalk link or ID) you choose to share when you connect.
- Technical data — basic information your browser sends, such as your IP address, and the cookies needed to keep you signed in and the service secure.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Operate your account — sign you in, build your profile, and let you use the service.
- Help you find partners — show you nearby players and let you send and receive connection requests.
- Record matches and rankings — calculate your recreational rating and place you on the leaderboard.
- Keep the community safe — enforce the code of conduct, handle reports and blocks, and prevent abuse.
- Communicate with you — send account and service emails such as sign-up confirmation, password reset, and email changes.
What is public and what stays private
LetsRacket is a community platform, so some information is public: your username, display name, bio, nationality, region, social links, rating, ranking, and match history are visible to anyone, and your profile photo is shown to signed-in members. Your age — a number derived from your year of birth — is shown, but the underlying date is not.
Everything else stays private and is never shown on your profile: your email address, your home area, the players you block, and your contact channel. Your contact channel is revealed to another player only after you both accept a connection — never before — and we never reveal a phone number.
Location
Nearby-player discovery is entirely opt-in: it works only if you set a home area. When you do, your device's location is rounded to roughly a 1 km grid before it is stored — your precise location is never saved and never leaves our server. Other players only ever see a rough distance, never your coordinates or address. You can clear your home area at any time from your profile, which immediately removes you from nearby results.
When we share information
We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for advertising. We share it only with the providers that make LetsRacket work:
- Supabase — our authentication and database provider, which stores your account and profile data on our behalf.
- Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google, which handles that sign-in.
- KakaoTalk — when you connect with another player, the contact channel you chose is shared with that player so you can talk off-platform. The conversation happens on KakaoTalk under Kakao's own privacy policy; we do not see it.
- Authorities — where we are required to by law, or to protect the safety of our members.
How long we keep your information
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your profile and personal information; matches you took part in may be retained in anonymized form so other players' histories and ratings stay accurate. We may keep limited records longer where the law requires it.
Your rights and choices
You are in control of your information:
- View and update — your profile is editable at any time from your account settings.
- Location — set or clear your home area whenever you like, or never set one at all.
- Block — block any member to make yourself invisible to them and them to you.
- Delete — ask us to delete your account and personal information by contacting us.
How we protect your information
Access to your private information is restricted in our systems: your email, home area, and contact channel are never exposed through public parts of the service, and contact details are revealed only after a mutual connection. All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, but we design the platform to expose as little as possible.
Children
LetsRacket is not intended for children. You must meet the minimum age required in your country to create an account, and you should not use the service if you are under that age.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. When we make significant changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you.
